I work with children, families, and young adults dealing with issues related to social skills, school functioning, anxiety, executive dysfunction, behavior regulation, and parenting.  I have special expertise in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders, and I work with families affected by ASD across the lifespan.

My approach to treatment is grounded in evidence-based practice and is strongly client-focused.  This means that I use the principles of treatments that have been proven to help people and apply them in ways that are appropriate and meaningful for each individual.

Listed below are examples of some of the evidence-based treatments that inform my practice.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy ("CBT")
CBT is an evidence-based treatment that can help with anxiety, depression, and more.  I am skilled in implementing CBT with special populations such as younger children and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Parent Coaching
I am trained in numerous methods of parent coaching.  Some methods, such as Parent Management Training ("PMT") are very behaviorally-focused and were designed to address challenging or oppositional behavior in children.  Other methods, such as Child-Parent Psychotherapy ("CPP"), emphasize the relational aspects of the parent-child dynamic.  I select and integrate the treatment approach, in collaboration with my clients, based on their needs.

Social Skills Training
Social skills are complex and difficult to teach.  Nevertheless, there are number of programs which have proven to help in improving aspects of social functioning.  I have run social skills programs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Westchester Jewish Community Services, and New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical College, as well as in various school systems.

Organizational Skills Training/Executive Functioning Coaching
Organizational Skills Training ("OST") is a treatment protocol that was developed to help children with ADHD.  I began facilitating OST groups at the Duke ADHD Clinic in Durham, North Carolina.  Since then, I have implemented components of this program to help people with executive functioning difficulties which impede their performance in school, work, or various aspects of their personal lives.
